Dominik Philipp studied architecture and project development as well as civil engineering at the FH Kärnten in Spittal an der Drau. During his studies, he worked as a Project Manager at Burgstaller Bau GmbH Innsbruck. In 2007 he started as Project Manager at Dietrich | Untertrifaller Architects in Vienna, where he became a Partner in 2014. Among other things, he led the competition for the Tabor shopping centre in Steyr, the Gallitzinstraße residential development study and the Laxenburgerstraße residential complex, the Lobau garden estate, the DC3 Tower and the Vienna branch of Hypo Vorarlberg. Since 2017, he has been teaching project management at the advanced training course 'überholz' at the University of Linz and supervises the master students. Since 2016 Dominik Philipp, together with Helmut Dietrich, Much Untertrifaller and Patrick Stremler, has been Managing Partner of all Dietrich | Untertrifaller locations.

Patrick Stremler

Patrick Stremler graduated from University of Karlsruhe in Germany. During his studies he worked for several renowned architects like Massimiliano Fuksas, Paris and as of 2002 regularly with Helmut Dietrich and Much Untertrifaller. After graduating he started at Behnisch Architekten as project manager and became project partner in 2012. During this time he was inter alia responsible for design and realization of the New Conference Center of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva.

Since 2016 Patrick Stremler, together with Helmut Dietrich, Much Untertrifaller and Dominik Philipp, has been Managing Partner of all Dietrich | Untertrifaller locations. Patrick Stremler is member of the Chamber of Architects of Bavaria as well as of Tyrol / Vorarlberg. He regularly gives lectures at renowned international events.

Show Biography

Much Untertrifaller studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology with Ernst Hiesmayr, the famous architect and teacher. He has been collaborating with his father, the architect Much Untertrifaller senior, since 1982 and his Silvretta house on the Bielerhöhe marked a change in alpine building.

In the mid 1980s began the successful collaboration with Helmut Dietrich. In 1994, after winning the international competition for the Festspielhaus in Bregenz, they opened their joint practice in Bregenz. The successful competition for the extension of the Wiener Stadthalle resulted in a second office in Vienna. In 2005, when the University ETH Zurich commissioned them to build their new Sport Center, they established a branch in St Gallen, joining forces with Christof Stäheli. In 2015 the office in Paris was opened, followed by Munich in 2016.

As licensed architect, Much Untertrifaller is a member of the architects chamber of Baden-Württemberg (since 1998), of Bayern (since 2016), and of the Departements Île de France (since 2015). Since 2014 he is registered as civil engineer in the chamber of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland. Since 2016 he has been teaching as an honorary professor at the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences.
